Not just a conference, it's a voyage!
Set sail for our 11th Annual Federal Benefits Conference,
Benefits Discovery 2002! Come and discover a
treasure chest of valuable human resources and payroll-related
information as we journey through the sometimes-knotted world
of Federal benefits in pursuit of a greater understanding
of their interactions and the effects on your customers. With
increased focus on customer service, it has become more important
for everyone to know how their actions interact with those
of others and how those actions effect their customers. Payroll
and personnel need a fuller understanding of each other's
roles.
Come hear the latest and greatest information about the new
Long Term Care Insurance Program, including benefits, underwriting,
premiums, marketing, enrollment, and other information that
will help you help your employees during the open season.
We are continuing our expanded focus to include payroll-related
topics. We'll have sessions on interactions between payroll
and personnel, new approaches to communicating benefits information,
financial planning, Workers' Compensation, Social Security,
and the Thrift Savings Plan. Additionally, there'll be more
special sessions for the headquarters level benefits program
managers. The focus is broader and we are working extremely
hard to ensure that the 11th annual conference is one that
you definitely won't forget.
We all are challenged to carry out our responsibilities
more effectively and provide better customer service. The
new millennium has brought new challenges in the benefits
area. Changing workforce demographics and new technologies
will cause even more challenges and changes in the benefits
programs and the way that they are administered. Our ability
to succeed in providing up-to-date information to our employees,
in a constantly changing environment, requires constant efforts
to expand our knowledge and skills. Benefits Discovery
2002 will examine those changes and help prepare you
to meet the new challenges.
While we look at the future, the present will not be forgotten
at the conference. All sessions will provide the latest information
on benefits programs. Experts will examine the interrelationships
among the programs administered by the Office of Personnel
Management, the Social Security Administration, the Thrift
Savings Investment Board, the Office of Workers Compensation,
and the Department of Defense. The conference will also provide
an opportunity for benefits and payroll officers to network,
exchange information, experiences and ideas.
We guarantee that attending Benefits Discovery 2002
will increase your knowledge of the Federal benefits programs,
provide you with information that you'll be able to use when
you return to the office, and be an experience you won't forget.
