LFCC Advisor Position Description

Overview

The CFC Advisors Network is a group of LFCC members with campaign experience who have volunteered to contact other LFCC members who are either new to the campaign or are seeking advice on campaign governance and accountability.

CFC Experience

All CFC Advisors must be active or former LFCC members. Ideal candidates have the following experience:

  • Served on an LFCC for two or more years

  • Attended a CFC Regional Workshop or LFCC Forum

  • Knowledge of CFC rules, regulations, and best practices

Expectations

OPM will match CFC Advisors with LFCC members seeking assistance from their peers. Consideration will be given to campaign size, geography, and related experience. The Advisor will be responsible for taking the initiative to contact the LFCC member. CFC Advisors should defer to OPM, as appropriate, any questions in which the Advisor is uncertain about the interpretation of CFC regulations or specific compliance issues.

Time dedicated to assisting LFCC members will vary. Advisors are expected to have at least one contact with the individual; follow-up communication is recommended but not required.

Benefits

The benefits of being a CFC Advisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Strengthening the CFC infrastructure

  • Building experience in nonprofit management and fundraising issues

  • Networking with LFCC peers

  • Being a leader in the CFC community
