Welcome to the new U.S. Office of Personnel Management website!

In this new website, you will find a wealth of information, guidance and news about OPM and on human capital issues and policies in the Federal Government. Due to the diversity of visitors to this site, much of the content on the main page has been divided by audience type – or major OPM customers – such as Job Seekers, Federal Employees, Retirees and Families, and HR Practitioners. Also, on the main page, you can directly access the most requested information, recent news and upcoming events, and information about OPM in general.

The look and format of the website has been overhauled to improve navigation so that you may find information more easily. There is also a “What’s New at OPM” section, which will be updated on a regular, if not daily, basis. Additionally, we have added numerous helpful links to facilitate your access to other human capital management and relevant sites.

Periodically, the website will showcase certain topics and materials. For example, we are currently highlighting the following on the main page:

• Recruitment Showcase – the ongoing OPM media and advertising campaign for attracting and recruiting into the Federal Government
• Career Patterns initiative – a guide to agencies on a new approach to hiring and supporting a Federal workforce in the 21st Century
• Pandemic Influenza Guide – OPM’s contribution to the President’s Implementation Plan for the National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza, including guidance on human capital management and revised telework guides

On this particular page of the website – From the Director’s Desk – I will periodically share thoughts, observations and commentary about current developments and policies in the human capital arena. I look forward to providing this update to you every month.
