Bank Accounts
- I have a bank account in my name and my dependent child's name; how do I report this?
- I have a savings account and a certificate of deposit at my credit union; do I list the balances in the Bank Accounts section or the Investment Accounts section?
- My parents have a bank account and my name is also on the account; do I have to report this in the Bank Accounts section of the FDF?
- If my name is listed on a relative's bank account, CDs, etc. must I report them?

- My family has numerous accounts at the same federal credit union. Do I have to enter the address each time?

I have a bank account in my name and my dependent child's name; how do I report this?
Answer: It should be reported by selecting the codes "Filer and Dependent child" in question 3a.

I have a savings account and a certificate of deposit at my credit union; do I list the balances in the Bank Accounts section or the Investment Accounts section?
Answer: Section 3: Bank Accounts should be completed to report all accounts held at bank and/or credit unions.

My parents have a bank account and my name is also on the account; do I have to report this in the Bank Accounts section of the FDF?
Answer: Yes. You should report this because your name is on the account. You should also provide comments in the Additional Comments box explaining the fact that your name is on an account with your parents, noting approximately how frequently and how much money you deposited and withdrew from that account during the calendar year.

If my name is listed on a relative's bank account, CDs, etc. must I report them?
Answer: Yes. You must report them in Section 3 and you should also provide details about the account and your relationship in the Additional Comments box.

Where do I report my foreign bank account?
Answer: Foreign bank accounts are reported in Section 3: Bank Accounts, U.S. and Foreign.

My family has numerous accounts at the same federal credit union. Do I have to enter the address each time?
Answer: Yes, list the federal credit union address the first time and then enter "Same" for subsequent account addresses for the number, street and city. You will have to reenter the state and zip code.
