Federal Investigative Notices

Effective February 1, 1998, the area code for the Federal Investigations Processing Center in Boyers, Pennsylvania, changed from 412 to 724. This change includes phone lines and facsimile lines for both OPM/IS and our contractor, USIS. With the exception of the area code, phone numbers and extensions will remain the same.

There will be a period of time from February 1, 1998, through April 29, 1998, when both area codes will be functional. On April 30, 1998, only the 724 code can be used. If you are having problems connecting to the new 724 area code, please contact your service vendor or local phone company for guidance. OPM and USIS are currently revising forms and programming equipment, and the necessary changes will be made prior to the April deadline.
