The educational topics for the SSPS include:

  • Implementation Plan for Federal Investigative Standards
  • Continuous Evaluation
  • Quality
  • 732 and Position Designation Tool
  • Insider Threat – National Policy and Implementation (reporting standards)
  • Joint Personnel Security and Suitability Assessments
  • Background Investigation and Adjudication Training Standards for Security/Suitability

Plenary sessions are scheduled in the morning for both days of the seminar.  Workshops will be conducted in the afternoon on both days of the seminar.  A continental breakfast, lunch, and break services will be provided each day.

The cost for the two-day seminar is $150.  The SSPS is open to Federal employees only; contractors are not permitted to attend.  Payment must be included with registration and will be accepted by either Inter-Agency Payment and Collection (IPAC) or Government Purchase Card (GPC).  IPAC payment is preferred.  Since registration will cross fiscal years (FY), your agency will need to ensure registration is submitted within the deadlines for the appropriate fiscal year for the obligation. Use the SPS Registration Form to access the PDF-fillable Express Payment and Registration Form. Please complete all sections electronically and click "Submit by E-Mail" within the form to submit your registration request to fissps@opm.gov.

Registration will commence August 21, 2013.  The following dates factor into the registration process:

  • FY13 payments -- registration will be open from August 21, 2013 to September 25, 2013
  • FY14 payments -- registration will be open from October 11, 2013 to November 8, 2013

Due to fiscal year end closing processes, registration forms should not be submitted between September 26th and October 10th.

The final registration deadline is Friday, November 8, 2013. We will be able to accommodate 500 attendees.  Notices will be sent confirming registration status directly to the attendee's email address listed on the registration form. No refunds or substitutions will be permitted after Friday, November 8, 2013.
