Employment Service offices can help people find a job opening, or, if they qualify, a training program or other incentives for employers that can enhance employability. Most Employment Service offices offer the tools and resources necessary for the job seeker to conduct their own job search at their own pace. However, Employment Service staff members are available to assist job seekers.
All Employment Service offices provide access to a nationwide data bose of job openings. Called America's Job Bank, it lists job openings from employment Service offices across the country. It can be accessed from easy-to-use, self service personal computers in Employment Service offices or on the Internet through the World Wide Web. Another great job hunting resource is OPM's USAJOBS.
Each office also maintains a network of contacts within their business community to obtain new job listings and to try to develop jobs.
