OPM Hosts Executive Resources Forum on Senior Executive Service Issues and Initiatives

Washington, DC -- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management hosted an interagency Executive Resources Forum for human resources program managers responsible for administering the Senior Executive Service personnel system in their respective agencies.

The forum, held at OPM's Alan K. Campbell Auditorium, let participants address common concerns and receive updates on continuing and future executive resource initiatives, including executive recruitment and pay, certification of SES performance appraisal systems, and leadership development. It also provided an opportunity for attendees to meet with OPM staff responsible for SES personnel system issues.

"The importance of senior executives to the smooth operation of federal programs and services cannot be overstated," said OPM Director Kay Coles James. "Today's program is part of OPM's commitment to communicate with agencies on issues of importance to our dedicated corps of senior executives."

Co-sponsored by the Strategic Human Resources Policy and Human Capital Leadership and Merit System Accountability Divisions of OPM, the forum represents the first of an ongoing series of meetings to keep executive resources staff current on policies and initiatives and for sharing best-practices.
