Washington, D.C. - Beginning June 18 and ending July 1, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will run its federal jobs ad campaign in the Cincinnati, Ohio, TV market. The continuing campaign is a part of the federal government's battle against the "federal retirement wave," and is intended to recruit highly qualified job candidates.

"There are thousands of interesting and important careers available right now in the federal government," said OPM Director Linda Springer. "This federal jobs ad campaign - the first of its kind - is making people aware of the opportunities that can be found for those wanting to serve their country and make a difference."

The ad campaign, which was "premiered" at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, is helping to raise the awareness of potential employees around the country to the interesting and rewarding careers they can find in the federal government. It also is spotlighting the federal government's jobs website, USAJOBS.

"OPM is committed to ensuring the federal government has an effective civilian workforce so the vital services provided to the country will continue for years to come," said Springer. "This campaign is doing just that. It is showcasing the positives one can accomplish working for the federal government - in essence, the American people."

Cincinnati was chosen because a large number of federal job openings are available in and around the city.
