OPM Launches Television Ad Campaign in Colorado Springs, CO

Campaign continues to highlight jobs of interest and the rewards of "Working for America"

Washington, D.C. - Beginning July 10, 2006 and ending July 23, 2006 the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will run its federal jobs television ad campaign in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, market. The campaign attracting new workers to the federal government is targeted at those who have the qualifications, skills, and experience the federal government looks for in its workforce.

"The federal government has thousands of jobs available right now," said OPM Director Linda M. Springer. "This ad campaign helps potential job candidates see some of the great opportunities that exist in government for those wanting to find a job that can be rewarding while allowing them to serve their country and make a difference."

The ad campaign, which "premiered" at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, is raising the awareness of potential employees around the country to the interesting and rewarding careers they can find in the federal government. It also spotlights the federal government's jobs website, USAJOBS.gov.

"OPM is committed to ensuring the federal government has an effective civilian workforce so the vital services provided to the country will continue for years to come," said Springer. "This campaign is showcasing what one can accomplish working for the federal government."

The Colorado Springs area, with an unemployment rate of 4.5 percent, was chosen because a significant number of federal job openings are available in the area.
