OPM Launches Television Recruitment Ad Campaign in Fresno, CA

Ads Encourage Individuals to Consider Jobs in the Federal Government

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer today announced a series of commercials encouraging individuals to consider careers with the Federal Government have begun running in Fresno, CA and surrounding communities. The ads, part of a nationwide campaign designed to attract qualified and experienced Americans into the Federal civilian workforce, will run for two weeks.

"There are more than 21,800 job opportunities in the Federal government right now, and we need talented Americans looking to make a difference to come see what we have to offer," Director Springer said. "Regardless of your professional background, the Federal government has career opportunities for you."

The ad campaign, which premiered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, is raising awareness of potential employees around the nation to the unique and rewarding careers available in the Federal civil service. Ads featuring real Federal workers denote some of the divergent opportunities available. Each ad instructs viewers to visit www.USAJOBS.gov to discover the many careers the Federal civil service has to offer and how to apply.

"Now more than ever, America needs talented and skilled people to come and be a part of the Federal government," Springer concluded. "I encourage Americans throughout Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley to visit www.USAJOBS.gov today to discover the many opportunities awaiting you."
