OPM Launches Television Recruitment Ad Campaign in Wheeling, WV

Ads Encourage Americans to Consider Careers in Federal Government

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer today announced a series of four commercials encouraging individuals to consider a career with the Federal government have begun running in Wheeling, WV and surrounding communities. The ads are part of a nationwide campaign designed to attract Americans with the qualifications, skills and experience necessary to serve their nation as a Federal civilian worker.

"We currently have more than 22,000 openings throughout the Federal government, and we need talented, dedicated Americans to come and make a difference," Springer said. "Regardless of your professional background, the Federal government has a career opportunity for you."

The ad campaign, which premiered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, is raising awareness of potential employees around the nation to the unique and rewarding careers available in the Federal civil service. Four distinct ads featuring real Federal workers denote some of the divergent opportunities available. Each ad instructs viewers to visit www.USAJOBS.gov to discover the many careers the Federal civil service has to offer and how to apply.

"America needs an effective and skilled civilian workforce to provide many of the services we depend on," Springer concluded. "I encourage Americans in Wheeling and throughout northern West Virginia, southeastern Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania, and western Maryland to visit www.USAJOBS.gov today to see what we have to offer."
