OPM Meets Strategic and Operational Goals

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Linda M. Springer announced the agency met the two strategic and operational goals slated for completion in August, and has already met three of four goals slated for completion in September.

"We're delivering the results we set out to accomplish," said Springer. "Each of these goals is designed to help the agency improve its services," she noted. "They also represent a challenge for members of Team OPM to be consistently high performers."

The two strategic and operational goals completed in August were:

œ Implementation of a plan to reduce Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) overpayments caused by carrier provider agreements which limited collection of refunds.

œ Mailing of 100% of Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Corrections Act (FERCCA) election packages to eligible annuitants and employees, and closing out cases for all annuitants and employees who were ineligible as of March 1, 2007.

Among the September goals finished ahead of schedule, OPM:

œ Included Government contributions to benefits in pay statement disclosures.

œ Laid the groundwork for more refined market adjustments to pay.

œ Obtained commitments from three additional agencies for migration to Human Resources Line of Business (HRLOB) Shared Service Centers.
