OPM Meets Strategic and Operational Goals for June

Washington, DC – The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has announced the agency has met its target goals for the month of June as outlined in its Strategic and Operational Plan.

“I am pleased that we are continuing to meet these important milestones,” said OPM Director Linda M. Springer.  “OPM is proving that with hard work and dedication, federal employees can accomplish any task in a timely manner.”

One of the key goals from the past month was to implement a plan to increase public awareness of professional opportunities in the federal workforce.  This OPM project has included using television ads to promote service in the Federal Government and the USAJOBS.gov website.  Another major goal met was to implement an agencywide employee recognition program.

Other goals achieved in the past month include:

  • Providing to Congress communications of OPM positions on routine issues within two days;
  • Implementing performance elements and standards for agency employees that support the Strategic and Operational Plan;
  • Establishing performance measurement criteria as part of implementing the Department of Defense’s National Security Personnel System;
  • Developing and rolling out a plan to recruit top talent for positions in management with the Chief Human Capital Officers Council and the Presidential Management Fellows Program;
  • Streamlining and improving the examination rating schedule for common occupations;
  • Developing a group employee incentive program for OPM’s Human Resources Products and Services Division that considers the division’s uniqueness as a reimbursable business operation;
  • Developing performance standards for OPM common services;
  • Developing new common services methodology; and,
  • Developing policy and functional requirements for nine non-core HRLOB functions.
