OPM Meets Strategic and Operational Plan Goals for July

Washington, DC - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has announced it has met three more target goals during the month of July.  The goals, as outlined in OPM's Strategic and Operational Plan, are part of the agency's commitment to improving the services it provides to federal agencies and the American people.

"Once again, OPM employees have risen to the challenge and achieved their target goals this month," said the agency's Director Linda M. Springer.  "We continue to show that OPM is committed to delivering its products and services in a timely manner."

One goal met in July was the continued implementation of a new option under the FSAFEDS Program.  The option includes a limited-expense health care flexible spending account for federal employees enrolled in high-deductible health plans with health savings accounts.

A second goal met in July involved the use of an agency-wide Document Management System. The pilot program, which was launched in March, has been an overwhelming success in improving the control and timely handling of agency actions and correspondence. The new system has now been extended beyond the pilot phase to full implementation to new users throughout all divisions and offices at OPM.

The final accomplished goal was the continuation of informing OPM customers of the agency's success in meeting its stated customer goals.  The main resources used for accomplishing this goal included monthly news releases, media briefings and one-on-one interviews.
