OPM Recruitment Teams Continue to Showcase Federal Careers at Nationwide Job Fairs

OPM Involvement in Senator Dick Lugar's Job Fair to Help Build a Stronger Federal Workforce with the Best and the Brightest

Indianapolis, IN - During the recent Third Annual Dick Lugar Job Fair for Security, Defense, Nursing and First Responders, held in Indianapolis, Indiana, a U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recruitment team welcomed more than 500 candidates interested in federal employment.

OPM Acting Director Dan G. Blair said in regards to OPM's participation in the fair, "OPM has made an aggressive commitment to creating a federal work force that reflects the best and brightest America has to offer. The outreach teams are reaching out to prospective employees across the nation. With continued persistence and a resolve to make opportunities available to everyone, we will build a promising and secure future for the federal workforce."

In addition to providing federal job information, the OPM team demonstrated features on www.usajobs.gov, the federal government's main portal for job seekers. Job applicants also received information on how to write effective knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) descriptions, and tips on interviewing, resume writing and the application process.

Senator Dick Lugar said, "I am pleased that OPM joined me in Indianapolis for the Third Annual Dick Lugar Job Fair this past weekend. OPM's attendance assisted Hoosiers as they continue to seek proactive ways to give back to their country and community through public service."

The recruitment teams continue to travel nationwide to highlight the federal government's many career opportunities and the varied fields of interest available to applicants. OPM teams also have showcased the government as an employer of first-choice and an equal opportunity employer.
