OPM Recruitment Teams Showcase Federal Careers at Congressman Albert Wynn's 13th Annual Job Fair

Involvement in Congressman Albert Wynn's 13th Annual Job Fair introduces over 8000 attendees to opportunities available in the federal government

Landover, MD - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recruitment teams continue to travel the nation participating in job and recruitment fairs. Recently, a team was deployed to the 13th Annual Albert Wynn Job Fair, held at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland where over 8,000 attendees expressed interest in Federal employment.

OPM Acting Director Dan G. Blair said in regards to OPM's participation in the fair, "We continue to see overwhelming response and increased interest in public service. OPM's participation in Congressman Wynn's fair and others like it, promote the reward and expanding opportunities available to citizens who want to serve America in work that really matters."

In addition to providing Federal job information, the OPM team demonstrated features on www.usajobs.gov, the Federal government's main portal for job seekers. Job applicants also received information on how to write effective knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) descriptions, and tips on interviewing, resume writing and the application process. Over 200 businesses and employers, including Federal and local government agencies participated in this year's job fair.

Congressman Albert Wynn said, "I am pleased with OPM's active involvement in making Federal opportunities available to over 8000 eager job seekers who attended this year's 13th Annual Job Fair.  Thanks to OPM's aggressive recruitment, thousands of job seekers are now aware of the noble call to public service and have the critical tools needed to pursue a career in civil service."

The recruitment teams continue to travel nationwide to highlight the Federal government's many career opportunities and the varied fields of interest available to applicants. OPM teams also have showcased the government as an employer of first-choice and an equal opportunity employer.
