OPM Senior Staff Meets with LULAC Officials

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer, Deputy Director Dan G. Blair and other OPM senior officials yesterday met with senior officials of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). Attending the meeting were LULAC's National President, Hector M. Flores and National Executive Director, Brent A. Wilkes, among other key LULAC officials.

During the meeting, OPM and LULAC discussed ways to continue strengthening their partnership to improve access to job opportunities within the federal government for Hispanics. "This meeting lays the groundwork to bring about opportunities to encourage more Hispanics to join the federal workforce," said Springer.

Springer recognized the importance of working in collaboration with LULAC to increase Hispanics' awareness of the job opportunities available in the federal government. LULAC has demonstrated its commitment to collaborate with OPM to reach out to the Hispanic community by adding links from LULAC's website to the government's premier employment website USAJobs, and other gateways to federal employment and educational funding such as StudentJobs and e-Scholar.

OPM and LULAC emphasized their commitment to build on their partnership and continue discussing Hispanic-related employment issues.
