Washington, DC- Today marks the 30th anniversary of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM's) Nationwide Testing Group working with the United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM), the DOD field activity responsible for administering both enlistment and Career Exploration versions of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). OPM Nationwide Testing's first arrangement with the DOD began in 1976 with the U.S. Air Force in Washington state and Oregon. While the enlistment version of the ASVAB is administered daily at the 65 Military Entrance Processing Stations located throughout the nation, utilizing computer-assisted technology, OPM test administrators provide the manual version of the ASVAB at nearly 500 satellite Military Entrance Test sites. In addition, OPM administers the career exploration version of the ASVAB to students at more than 12,000 high schools nationwide during each school year.
