OPM's USAJOBS Visitors Top 60 Million

Director James calls on agencies to speed hiring process

Washington, DC -- With millions of job seekers looking to find their "perfect" career, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) USAJOBS web site is experiencing unprecedented success.

"USAJOBS is a great example of a hugely successful internet job site, one that is helping people identify opportunities with federal government agencies," said OPM Director Kay Coles James. "I am especially proud of USAJOBS because it offers the American people a useful access point to federal jobs. Federal agencies must do more to honor their interest by streamlining their internal hiring processes and offering jobs in a more timely manner."

Since its launch on August 4, 2003, USAJOBS has logged more than 60,513,450 visits and job seekers have created well over 500,000 new resumes. Job seekers are accessing a wealth of information and taking full advantage of the state-of-the-art tools available. The Homeland Security content has been viewed more than 1.2 million times; the Featured Job and Featured Employer sections have been seen by more than 1 million; and job seekers have used the "Email this Announcement to a Friend" feature more than 725,000 times.

"I am committed to continual improvements in USAJOBS for all those who have responded to the call to serve," said James.
