OPM Accomplishes September Goals

Washington, D.C..- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) completed each of the 53 strategic and operational goals slated for completion by the end of the last month of fiscal year 2007, OPM Director Linda M. Springer announced.

"OPM is working hard to improve the services we offer," said Springer. "The accomplishment of these goals means we're making tangible progress on many fronts," she indicated.

Among the strategic and operational goals completed in September, OPM:

œ Built and tested the Retirement System Modernization (RSM) components in support of the February 2008 go-live objective. During September, active employee folder imaging in the Retirement Operations Center was also completed.

œ Increased to 600,000 the total number (cumulative) of converted hard copy official personnel folders governmentwide to electronic format.

œ Developed capacity to transmit completed investigations electronically to all clearance granting agencies.

œ Supported agency's Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 hiring investigative requirement of 90% advance results with 10 days.

œ Began to operate in the new Career Patterns environment at all Chief Human Capital Officer agencies.

œ Designed and implemented 21st century hiring flexibility educational tools to assist hiring officials and HR professionals in all Chief Human Capital Officer agencies.
