OPMHiring Tool Selected to Assist VA with Overall HR Transformation Goals

Washington, D.C..- U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Linda M. Springer today announced USA Staffing™, an automated hiring tool designed by OPM, will assist the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in meeting its overall HR Transformation goals.  The two agencies have agreed to partner and have put in place a multi-million dollar, five year interagency agreement.

In making the announcement Springer said, "Through this significant contract, OPM again is demonstrating our commitment to providing the most cost-effective, optimal system available to Federal agencies for getting the best-qualified candidates into the nation's civilian workforce."

USA Staffing™ is an integrated software solution configured to automate recruitment, assessment referral and notification processes. It is the only governmental off-the-shelf product to automate staffing and examining. OPM staff with extensive experience in applying Federal staffing policy and practices designed USA Staffing™ specifically to support all Federal hiring rules, regulations, and related policies and procedures.

The team will work with VA to deploy the system over the next three years. In addition to USA Staffing licenses, the interagency agreement includes multiple advance training sessions on developing effective prescreen assessments, and Train-the-Trainer sessions.

A total of 27 Federal agencies currently use USA Staffing™ nationwide. Agencies have chosen the hiring tool because of its multifaceted capabilities. USA Staffing™ features include rating and processing high volumes of applications quickly, initiating and tracking staffing actions, building assessment components and managing assessment plans.  OPM's Center for Talent Services provides the USA Staffing™ solution and other recruitment, assessment and staffing services to meet Federal human resource needs.
