2002 BIWEEKLY PAY CAP ON PREMIUM PAY FOR

REGULAR GS EMPLOYEES*

GS employees (excluding law enforcement officers) may be paid certain types of premium pay in a pay period only to the extent that the aggregate of basic pay and premium pay for the pay period does not exceed the biweekly rate for GS-15, step 10 (including any applicable special salary rate or locality rate of pay).  (See 5 U.S.C. 5547(a) and 5 CFR 550.105.)  The table below provides the biweekly pay cap amounts applicable to all GS employees, except those (1) for which there is a higher GS-15, step 10, special salary rate or (2) who are law enforcement officers under 5 U.S.C. 5541 and 5 CFR 550.103.  These rates are effective as of the first day of the first applicable pay period beginning on or after January 1, 2002.*
