The Joint Financial Management Improvement Program (JFMIP) has sponsored this award since 1971. The JFMIP of the Federal Government is a cooperative undertaking of the Department of the Treasury, the General Accounting Office, the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management. This award recognizes senior financial management executives who, through outstanding and continuous leadership in financial management, have been principally responsible for significant economies, efficiencies and improvements in Federal, state or local Government.
