Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Kay Coles James led the collection of more than 600 toys for the children of the crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt for their annual holiday party. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) which is housed in the Theodore Roosevelt Federal Building officially "adopted" the USS Theodore Roosevelt late last year when the ship and crew were serving in the Middle East in the War on Terrorism. While the ship is not currently deployed it is undergoing extensive sea testing and the crew is spending long weeks from their families. "When we adopted the crew and their families of the USS Theodore Roosevelt it wasn't just for a few days, weeks or months. The OPM staff and I are in this for the long haul. Every day the crew members put on those uniforms they are prepared to go into harm's way and that's something we all must remember," said Office of Personnel Management Director Kay Coles James. The toys were delivered to the annual ship holiday party on Sunday, November 24.
