January 2010 Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for Civil Service Annuitants

Current Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA)

Annuities are increased for cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) based on the criteria in Title 5, U.S. Code, sections 8340(b) and 8462(b). The consumer price index for the quarter ending September 30, 2009 did not increase when compared with the same index for the third quarter in 2008 therefore, no COLA is payable in 2010.
