| Receives notice from SSA if applicant appeals. | If applicant appeals unfavorable SSA decision, inform OPM of appeal. |
If the employee is working (SGA is involved), OPM will not send FEDMER package to SSA and SSA will not take an application until SGA ends.
If applicant is terminally ill (see SSA's TERI criteria) annotate Statement of Participation (SOP) that a terminal illness exists, and SSA field office will take claim immediately.
