Find Opportunities:

Mentoring can be a truly effective means of not only assisting in guiding a coworker or colleague, but can also serve to teach the mentor a variety of skills.  It gives the Mentor the opportunity to lead by example, by providing guidance, and by holding the mentee accountable for their commitment.  All of these can be powerful self-teaching, developmental tools.

Discover Helpful Tools & Resources:

OPM's training and development team has recently finalized the development of a fantastic new interactive online course designed to allow participants the ability to practice as if having an actual conversation with an employee - virtually.  It is cutting edge technology that would benefit any supervisor or manager in developing the necessary skills handle challenging and sensitive conversations.
