The Telework Issues Working Group, co-chaired by Billy Michael and Mallie Burruss, met at the GSA, 1800 F Street, Room 3238 from 9:00 a.m. to noon on July 12, 2001.

Attendees: Lesly P. Wilson, GSA; Alisa Green, NIH/HHS; Alice Owens, HHS/HRSA; Joann Jones, USAID; Helen Straka, Ed; Terry Poyner, State; Billy Michael, GSA; Mallie Burruss, OPM; and via teleconference: Theresa Noll, GSA; Marge Adams, USDA; Don Faulkner, DOT; Ron Patterson, OPM; and Wendell Joice, GSA.

The Group discussed the following:

Working Members

• It was decided that only working members of the Telework Issues Working Group would be included in the final report.

Joint website

• The joint website received premature media coverage - OPM and GSA will be working on a joint press release.

Agency Policies/Web input

• Ron received nine agency policies for the web. Minutes will be added to the web as well.

Union Involvement/Draft Report/Target Dates

• After report is in final draft, but before it is sent to GSA and OPM heads, it will be given to OPM's Director of Labor and Employee Relations, Jeff Sumberg, to send to the unions for their input (advising that it has not yet gone to GSA and OPM heads).
• Committee leaders provided updates on issues and recommendations. All of the reports will be going to the Workgroup members for review and will also be put on the secure website.
• Target dates:
• Comprehensive draft paper - Mid-August
• Final draft report - End of August

Interim Telework Report

• OPM's Interim Report on Telework was sent to Congressman Wolf's office on July 11th. The report has not been released outside of the Congressman's office.
