Our People & Organization Office of the Director

OPM serves as the chief human resources agency and personnel policy manager for the Federal Government. Our mission at OPM is to Recruit, Retain and Honor a World-Class Workforce to Serve the American People by directing human resources and employee management services, administering retirement benefits, managing healthcare and insurance programs, overseeing merit-based and inclusive hiring into the civil service, and providing a secure employment process. The Office of the Director provides guidance, leadership and direction necessary to fulfill the agency’s mission and make the Federal Government the model employer in the United States.
