Ashu Goel

Ashu Goel is the Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Federal Data Solutions within the OPM CIO Office.  He has extensive public and private sector experience managing large, complex IT programs during his more than 30 year career. 

Prior to joining OPM in February 2016, Mr. Goel was the Director of Data Management Reporting and Analysis Division within the Bureau of Fiscal Service's Revenue Collections Management business area and was responsible for systems collecting in excess of $3T of Federal revenue annually.  During his tenure at Fiscal Service, Mr. Goel led both the Collections Information Repository (CIR) that warehoused all Federal collections transactions and the Treasury Cash Management program which ensured movement of Federal funds to Treasury general accounts.  Before his tenure at Fiscal Service, Mr. Goel spent nearly ten years at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives serving in various roles before departing the Bureau as Deputy Chief Technology Officer.

Before joining Federal Government in 2002, Mr. Goel worked with telecommunication companies – Verizon and AT&T - for nearly a decade in their Information Technology groups and then with management consulting companies for four years to manage large turn-key programs for Fortune 100 clients.

Mr. Goel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
