LaShonn M. Woodland

As the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Mrs. Woodland leads and administers the agency-wide EEO program which addresses all types of workplace disputes related to equal employment opportunity and discrimination in the workplace.   Her operational responsibilities include the development of EEO management policy, leading the departmental EEO program, and issuing final decisions on all discrimination complaints filed by OPM employees and applicants.

Mrs. Woodland also serves as the principal EEO advisor to the Director of OPM and represents the Director in all EEO matters within the agency.  She is responsible for promoting EEO at OPM by providing guidance on all agency planning, policies, and decisions as well as administering programs and policies that help the agency identify and eliminate systemic barriers to equal opportunity.

Mrs. Woodland manages the EEO complaints program at OPM and is responsible for providing EEO counseling for employees and applicants, administering the agency’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, processing formal complaints, conducting investigations, and issuing final agency actions.

Mrs. Woodland has more than 24 years in the field of EEO. Throughout her Federal career, she has had a myriad of leadership responsibilities in equal employment opportunity, including managing the informal and formal EEO complaint programs and processing complaints of discrimination across the Federal sector.

Born and raised in the District of Columbia, Mrs. Woodland currently lives in Bowie, Md. with her husband and two children.
