Local CFC Codes, e-Giving Initiatives, and Air Force Policy on Websites
CFC Memorandum 2005-5
March 29, 2005
TO: | LOCAL FEDERAL COORDINATING COMMITTEES AND PRINCIPAL COMBINED FUND ORGANIZATIONS |
---|---|
FROM: | MARA T. PATERMASTER DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMAPIGN (OCFC) |
SUBJECT: | LOCAL CFC CODES, e-GIVING INITIATIVES , and AIR FORCE POLICY ON WEBSITES |
- Local CFC Participating Organization Codes - The Office of CFC Operations (OCFCO) received a significant number of first-time applicants, both among federations and unaffiliated organizations seeking participation in the 2005 CFC. In order to assign a unique series to each of these groups, should they be admitted, the OCFCO will need to go beyond its traditional numbering system.
Currently numbers 0001-2999 and 9800-9999 are used to identify participating CFC national/international organizations. The range will be expanded in 2005 to include 9100-9799 as well. Therefore, any local organizations that were assigned numbers from 9100-9799 will need to be re-assigned by the campaign. The assignment of CFC codes to local organizations is at the discretion of the local campaign. Any code between 3000 and 9099 may be used for this purpose.
- e-Giving Initiatives - It has come to our attention that a number of PCFOs are testing the use of electronic giving systems. While OPM supports such initiatives, please be advised that you are required to seek approval from both the LFCC and from OPM prior to implementation. This will ensure that all information is fully compliant with CFC regulations. For questions or additional information, please contact Cherlynn Stevens at 202/606-2564.
- Air Force Policy on Websites - We have received inquiries regarding certain charities' URLs that were blocked for access by Federal employees of the U.S. Air Force. While the CFC brochure includes all charities that qualify, the U.S. Air Force governs its employees' use of the Internet with the result that certain websites may not be accessible to U.S. Air Force employees. For more information, please contact the U.S. Air Force.
