Washington, D.C. - Over 42 million users have visited the new U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) USAJOBS website since its launch in August and more than 6.6 million visits were logged by job seekers in the month of February alone -- the highest monthly number of visits ever for the website -- according to OPM Director Kay Coles James. In addition, over 414 million website pages have been viewed and nearly 400 thousand online resumes have been created and posted on the website.
"The enhanced USAJOBS website, www.usajobs.gov, is one of many initiatives developed to attract the best and brightest to the federal work force," stated James. "Part of President George W. Bush's Management Agenda e-Government initiative -- Recruitment One-Stop -- USAJOBS consolidates federal jobs in one place and allows users to spend more time applying for jobs rather than just trying to locate them."
OPM recently rolled-out powerful new designs for the USAJOBS and Student Jobs websites delivering improved graphics, search pages, and site maps. Many of the changes were implemented as a direct result of user feedback.
"The feedback we receive is critical because we base future improvements on website users' input," James added. Job seekers' satisfaction is closely monitored using the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), and in February reached a USAJOBS all-time high score of 76.
"We strive to create a website tool that is easy to use and will attract people looking for careers in the federal government," James said. More significant improvements to the website are scheduled for April.
