WashingtonD.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Kay Coles James today announced that more than 93 million visits have been logged on the www.usajobs.gov website since the re-launch in August 2003.
"Job seekers looking to use their expertise in service to America deserve our absolute best, and that is exactly what they are getting," James said. "OPM continues to respond quickly to user feedback and incorporate helpful changes to the USAJOBS web site. We are committed to making it as easy as possible for qualified individuals to find useful information on joining the civil service."
Based on user satisfaction survey results, a new "search by job grade" capability was added in early September. Recent numbers also show that more than 78 million unique visitors have viewed the revamped website, and there are currently approximately 15,500 federal jobs available. Over 820,000 additional resumes were created.
James added, "The unprecedented success of the USAJOBS website, a key e-Government initiative under Recruitment One Stop, shows that American job seekers are finding a more user-friendly site which acts to encourage and build upon current interest in the federal civil service. At the same time, OPM is encouraging agencies to streamline and expedite their hiring decisions to reduce the time it takes agencies to hire new employees."
The USAJOBS website is the one-stop source for federal jobs and employment information for the federal government. The revamped website features a quicker job- search engine, sorting capacities, and accessibility for disabled users. Other features include storage for up to five online resumes, a personal career management home, an option to make resumes searchable by agency recruiters, and an opportunity to create and save application letters.
