OPM Partners with New York Federal Executive Board to Host Hiring Training for Local Agencies
Hiring Professionals from 13 Departments and Agencies Trained on Keys to improving the Quality and Speed of Hiring Process
New York, NY - As part of a nationwide series of seminars, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the New York Federal Executive Board (FEB) hosted a seminar on hiring flexibilities for federal managers and Human Resource specialists. Enlisting the help of FEBs from across the country, OPM is using training seminars to provide critical information that agencies can use in workforce planning and recruitment.
An OPM Deputy Assistant Director for Human Capital Leadership, Kevin Mahoney, delivered a message on hiring to the attendees. "Director James is committed to elevating the role of Federal Executive Boards to serve as resources to regional agency offices. It is critical we reach out to managers and supervisors to share cutting edge, practical information about the hiring process and available flexibilities."
Discussing the importance of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the federal hiring process, Mahoney added: "As Director James often highlights, a key to improving the quality and speed of the hiring process is to ensuring agencies are not only aware of but utilize existing flexibilities."
