OPM Director James Unveils Chief Human Capital Officers Council Website to Communicate HR News and Council Activities

Washington, DC -- U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Kay Coles James today unveiled a website devoted exclusively to the Chief Human Capital Officers (CHCO) Council and its business activities that help human resources professionals more effectively carry out their many roles. As the OPM Director, James also Chairs the Council.

The website at www.chcoc.gov provides access and links to governmentwide memoranda, Benefits Administration Letters and other documents that provide information and guidance to the HR community. Topics covered relate to personnel administration, including recruitment issues, employment benefits, employee security and emergency preparedness, and assorted issues to facilitate effective government service.

"The Chief Human Capital Officers Council was created to help form and shape Federal human resources policy," said James, "and it has been extremely effective in this capacity, and as a communications tool to share best-practices between agencies. "Establishment of the CHCO website is a logical extension of the Council in expanding its reach of ideas and information."

Recent news on the website includes a memorandum from James to agency Chief Human Capital Officers announcing an upcoming summit sponsored by the National Association of Hispanic Federal Executives. OPM is co-sponsoring the summit, which will focus on key issues of importance to Hispanics in the federal work force.
