OPM Awards Contract to Monster Government Solutions to Maintain and Upgrade the Federal Government's USAJOBS Website and Employment Information System

Award-winning USAJOBS among highest-rated government-run websites and ranks in customer satisfaction

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management today awarded a contract to Monster Government Solutions to maintain the agency's popular USAJOBS website, the federal government's premier, online job-search site for college students and busy professionals.

The five-year, performance-based contract specifies that Monster Government Solutions (MGS) operates and maintains OPM's state-of-the-art Federal Employment Information System. This contract includes the USAJOBS website (usajobs.gov), as well as STUDENTJOBS.gov, USAJOBS by Phone (703-724-1850), and customer-support services.

"I am pleased to make this announcement and continue the relationship OPM has developed over the past two years with Monster Government Solutions to provide service and product innovation to individuals looking for careers in public service," said OPM Director Linda M. Springer. "MGS has a track record of success, and its management team has committed the expert resources required to serve the American public's ever-growing interest in federal jobs."

Enhancements to the site have helped boost traffic to approximately 250,000 visitors per day, up from 27,000 prior to the August 2003 overhaul. Since then, the site has registered more than 1.5 billion hits, while users have created more than 1.5 million résumés.

The performance-based contract is valued at $27.1 million if OPM exercises the full base, plus four option years. The contract calls upon MGS to deliver continuous innovation through emerging technologies to improve service reliability and the overall job-search and applications experience for applicants, and to facilitate the hiring process for federal HR officials.

Under a previous contract with OPM, Monster Government Solutions upgraded USAJOBS into an easy-to-navigate, more aesthetic platform, which resulted in the site's recent receipt of an all-time personal high rating on the American Customer Satisfaction Index for government websites. Under that contract, MGS completely replaced the USAJOBS technology in August 2003, unveiling state-of-the art job-search capability, expanded search agent options, and a user-friendly résumé builder, with enhanced résumé management tools. The company also improved access to job announcements and implemented a streamlined job application process that integrated with multiple automated hiring systems in use at federal agencies.

USAJOBS recently was recognized as one of four federal government programs to receive the 2005 Intergovernmental Solutions Award by the American Council of Technology/Industry Advisory Council.
