OPM Announces Employees Win Latest A-76 Competition

Washington, DC- The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced that the employee group has won its most recent A-76 streamlined competition for positions in its Division for Human Resources Products and Services' Center for Retirement and Insurance Services (RIS). As with most previous competitions, OPM employees proved federal workers can provide better value to taxpayers than the private sector contractors.

"I am happy to announce OPM employees came out the winners in the latest competitive sourcing," said OPM Director Linda M. Springer. "This competition lets the world know how good OPM employees are."

The A-76 competition involved positions in RIS' Performance and Career Development activity, with employees located both in Washington, DC, and Boyers, PA. The 15 full time employee positions included training specialists, human resources specialists, program managers, and a training technician.

Based on the cost comparison required by the A-76, OPM determined its employees are able to perform this work for over $1 million less than the private sector and will save the government approximately $700,000 over the next five years

"These OPM employees were determined to be able to perform their work more efficiently than the private sector and as a result, were selected to continue to perform these functions," said Springer. "I am proud of what we've done...congratulations."
