Statement: Director Cabaniss Honors the Service of Congressman Cummings

From OPM Director Dale Cabaniss:

Today OPM mourns the passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings, who has left us with an inspiring legacy of passionate and dedicated public service.

Congressman Cummings served honorably for decades as a staunch advocate for civil rights and the communities he served. He earned bipartisan respect throughout his career for speaking his mind with the rare combination of resolve and humility.

Our hearts go out to his family, the people of Maryland, and people all across this great nation as we mourn this loss.
