Our Inspector General Organization

The Office of Evaluations (OE) provides the Inspector General with an alternative method to conduct independent, credible, and thorough reviews of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) programs and operations to prevent waste, fraud and abuse. OE can quickly analyze OPM concerns or issues that need immediate attention by using a variety of review methods and evaluation techniques. OE reports provide OPM management with findings and practical recommendations that will assist in enhancing program operations, efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

The Inspector General Reform Act of 2008 requires that Inspectors General adhere to the Quality Standards for Inspections, commonly referred to as the “Blue Book,” issued by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE).
