    Our Inspector General Organization

    Gopala K. Seelamneni joined the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Office of the Inspector General in 2014 as the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO).  In this role, Mr. Seelamneni manages the office’s IT needs, including providing support to OIG employees and overseeing IT security.   

    Prior to becoming the CITO, Mr. Seelamneni served as Assistant Director, Data Management Systems of Technology Division at Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) at the U.S. Department of Treasury.  As Assistant Director, he managed a wide variety of IT services provided to internal FinCEN customers and external law enforcement agencies.

    Mr. Seelamneni first joined the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in October 2011 as the Technical Director charged with building and supporting the agency’s health claims data warehouse.  He left in 2013 to join FinCen.

    Before working in the federal government, he served at various private sector companies including AT&T, IBM, FannieMae, FreddieMac, NCB, United Health Care, and MMM.  Earlier in his career, he also taught under graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering in India.

    Mr. Seelamneni holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Acharya Nagarjuna University, India, and a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Delhi, India. He resides in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife, son, and daughter.
