    Our Inspector General Organization

    Nicholas E. Hoyle was appointed Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management and to the Senior
    Executive Service in April 2018. He is part of the management team responsible for directing
    the areas of information technology, financial management, and administrative management,
    to include human resources and administrative sanctions.

    Mr. Hoyle began his Federal career in 2004 as an auditor with the Office of the Inspector
    General (OIG). In 2013, he was named Chief of the Information Systems Audits Group,
    where he managed teams responsible for overseeing the cybersecurity programs at U.S. Office
    of Personnel Management (OPM) and its contractors. In this role, he also managed a data
    analytics team that mined historical health insurance claims data to detect fraud waste and
    abuse. Mr. Hoyle was a key member of the OIG’s internal response team after the 2015 OPM
    data breaches, and his work was cited in multiple Congressional hearings related to this event.

    Mr. Hoyle is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in
    Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Information Systems, both from Virginia Tech.
