    Our Inspector General Organization

    Robin Richardson was appointed Counsel to the Inspector General in February 2016.  Ms. Richardson provides legal advice to the Inspector General and to the Office of the Inspector General as a whole.  Prior to appointment as Counsel, Ms. Richardson served as senior counsel in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s Office of the General Counsel.

    Ms. Richardson received her undergraduate degree in computer and information sciences from the University of Florida and worked for IBM after graduation.  She returned to the University of Florida and earned her juris doctorate from the College of Law.  Ms. Richardson clerked for the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and, after clerking, worked as an associate for Sidley & Austin. 

    After leaving Sidley & Austin, Ms. Richardson served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Environmental and Natural Resources Division and in the Appellate Staff, Civil Division, and as a staff attorney for the Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Protection Agency.
