How does the Affordable Care Act impact children under age 26?

Beginning in plan year 2011, the Affordable Care Act allowed OPM to extend family member coverage by allowing adult children up to age 26 to be covered under their parent’s FEHB Self and Family FEHB enrollment.  Both married and unmarried children qualify for this coverage. Generally, there are no residency or dependency requirements.  More information
