  • The first weekend of each LDS program is a "working weekend" requiring attendance on Saturday and Sunday.    There are no program activities scheduled during the second and third weekend of the seven standard LDS programs offered each year. Program activities end at noon Friday and resume Monday for these sessions.

  • The WMDC is located in the eastern suburb of Aurora and is only 16 miles from downtown Denver. The Red Lion Hotel Denver SE provides free hotel shuttle service to/from the airport. There is also a  light-rail transit stop close to the WMDC. Information is available at the hotel bell stand.

  •  Colorado weather can be unpredictable. Be prepared by bringing layered clothing. It can be chilly in the summer evenings. It is advisable to bring a warm coat and sweater in the winter, and a light sweater or jacket during spring and summer.

  • Shepherdstown is located in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and the weather is similar to weather in DC, but often a few degrees cooler. Even in summer the evenings can be cool, so it would be advisable to bring along a sweater during the summer.

  • Normally there are no formal sessions in the evenings or weekends. However, participants should be prepared to meet with their presentation teams/consulting groups during evening hours. Participants often get together for sightseeing, movies, shopping, skiing or hiking in the historic Shepherdstown area.  The hotel front desk has information and the Shepherdstown Visitor's Center has a complete overview of events.

  • No. As a local Colorado resident your agency has elected to have you participate at a discounted tuition rate. This saves your agency the cost of hotel lodging and the full per diem cost. Your tuition includes the cost of lunch, but not breakfast and dinner.

  • Yes, but it is not recommended due to the intense nature of our seminars. There is an additional $10.00 per night room charge for guest(s) staying in your room. If they will be eating with you in the WMDC dining room the charges for guest(s) meals are: Breakfast-$8, Lunch-$12 and Dinner-$15.   • Your agency can purchase a seminar several ways.  How to enroll is easy! For information about registering for MDC seminars, call 304-870-8008 or email us at register@opm.gov. You will be directed to the Customer Service Representative who works with your agency. Tuition that is covered by a training document will be billed at the end of the course. If a purchase card is used for registration it will be processed at the time of registration.
