  • The Denver International Airport is approximately 25 miles from the Red Lion Hotel Denver SE. Upon arrival at DIA, proceed to the Baggage Claim Area. Exit through Door 508 of the West Terminal and proceed to Island #3.  Note: Ensure you board the shuttle for the Red Lion Denver Southeast in Aurora.  It is advisable to check with the driver prior to boarding.  The shuttle departs the hotel at the top of the hour and picks up passengers at the airport within the hour under normal weather, traffic and road conditions. Be prepared for up to an hours' wait, depending on  your arrival time. It takes about half an hour each direction during normal traffic and road conditions. Hours for the shuttle are 4am-12pm seven days a week. If you miss the last shuttle due to your arrival time, please call the front desk at 303-695-1700 to request a pick up at West Terminal, Island #3.

  • You are welcome to bring your laptop if you wish. There are ethernet cables and wireless access points available in the hotel rooms. The WMDC has computers in each breakout room and 22 computers in the second floor participant lounge with various types of software and Internet access. A wireless signal is available also. There are six computers for participant use in the hotel’s Participant Lounge in Suite 618.

  • For each additional night you elect to stay beyond the term of the seminar you will be charged the per diem rate,  For children who are 12 years old and under, the cost is free. For guests 13-17 years of age, the additional cost is $10 per night. For guest 18 years and older, the cost is $20 per night. Please note on your lodging and transportation sheet any additional nights. For further information please call Angie Kutcher, Clarion Hotel EMDC Liaison, at  304-870-7021.

  • The Clarion Hotel provides shuttle transportation at a cost between the three area airports and the EMDC.  Service must be scheduled in advance.  Instructions for reserving transportation are provided with seminar pre-course materials. Payment is due at the hotel's front desk upon check out. Pricing is one-way

  • Transportation is not required since the Clarion Hotel and the Eastern Management Development Center are in the same complex. Shuttle service is provided between the Dulles, Reagan and BWI airports and the EMDC. If your agency has authorized a rental car, one can be rented at your arrival airport or the Clarion Hotel. Many participants get together to rent a car for weekend trips. Enterprise Rental has weekend discounts available for Clarion Hotel guests, and parking is free at the hotel and the center. Contact Angie Kutcher, the EMDC Liaison, at 304-870-7021 to make shuttle arrangements.

  • Personal transportation is not necessary since the hotel and training center are adjacent. Complimentary hotel shuttle service is provided between the airport and the hotel. If your agency has authorized a rental car, one can be rented at the Denver International Airport or Enterprise-Rent-A-Car located in the hotel. Many participants get together to rent a car for weekend trips. Enterprise be contacted directly at 720-748-6939. Parking is free at the hotel and the WMDC.

  • 1. The LEAD Certificate Program is a self-paced program, which means OPM is not formally involved until you complete the 5 required seminars for a given level of leadership. This also means you register for each course individually as you progress through the seminars. 2. Within 90 days of completing the last of the five seminars at a given level, you must email a list of your 5 completed courses with the start dates to validate completion within the three year period to the OPM LEAD Certificate Program Manager.  The contact information is LEAD@opm.gov and 304-870-8014. 3. Once validated, you will have 90 days to submit a 4-6 page capstone paper, detailing lessons learned and describing at least one application example at your job. The paper will be reviewed for Pass/Fail by an OPM Program Director/Faculty Member. 4. Once a "Pass" rating on the capstone paper is attained, you will received a LEAD Certificate.   • Many courses offered in the LEAD Certificate Program are certified by the American Council on Education (ACE) for college and graduate credit. The credit hours vary depending on the length and content of the course. ACE serves as the registry for student to collect ACE-certified course credits for nontraditional training courses. After paying one-time fee to establish a transcript with ACE, a student can use ACE to collect and maintain a permanent record of classes and credits.   Click here for information: ACE
