Status: Open with option for Unscheduled Leave or Unscheduled Telework

Federal Executive Branch departments and agencies inside the Washington, DC, Beltway are OPEN with unscheduled leave and unscheduled telework available in accordance with agency guidelines.

THIS IS AN OPERATING STATUS UPDATE AS OF 10:50 AM

As buildings are inspected and reopened across the Federal Government, closing information is expected to continue to change rapidly.

Please consult your agency or supervisor for the most up-to-date information on the status of your workplace.

If your building is closed, here are your operating guidelines:

*Emergency employees are expected to report for work on time;
*Non-emergency employees (including employees on pre-approved paid leave) will be granted excused absence (administrative leave) for the number of hours they were scheduled to work, unless—

  • The employee is required to telework by his or her agency's official policy as reflected in his or her written telework agreement;
  • The employee works or is on official travel outside of the Washington, DC area;
  • The employee is on leave without pay (LWOP); or
  • The employee is on an alternative work schedule (AWS) day off.
