Several of these objectives highlight the responsibility of the Federal Government to provide information on suicide prevention to the Federal workforce and participate in a coordinated and synergistic approach to suicide prevention.</p>
<p>Worksite Health Promotion and Employee Assistance Programs are an integral part of this National Strategy&nbsp;&nbsp;and play a critical role in achieving these objectives by providing educational support and protective factors such as improved social&nbsp;connectedness, problem-solving skills, and general well-being.&nbsp; For more information about your role in this important initiative, go to the <a href="http://www.samhsa.gov/prevention/suicide.aspx" class="Leaving">Suicide Abuse and Mental Health Administration</a> website.</p>]]></content:encoded></item><item><title>Domestic Violence Update</title><link>http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/worklife/news/2012/12/domestic-violence-update/</link><pubDate>Thu, 06 Dec 2012 00:00:00 GMT</pubDate><guid>http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/worklife/news/2012/12/domestic-violence-update/</guid><content:encoded><![CDATA[ <p>In a <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/04/18/presidential-memorandum-establishing-policies-addressing-domestic-violen" class="Leaving">Presidential Memorandum</a> to heads of executive departments and agencies dated April 18, 2012, the President directed OPM, in consultation with the Attorney General, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and other interested heads of agencies, to develop Governmentwide guidance to address the effects of domestic violence on the Federal workforce.&nbsp; Final guidance is scheduled to be released to Federal agencies by December 18, 2012.&nbsp;</p>]]></content:encoded></item></channel></rss>
