Transparency in Healthcare
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is committed to increasing transparency in healthcare. Enhancing the availability and accessibility of price and quality information to Federal employees, annuitants and their family members is an important strategy for fostering the continued quality and affordability of Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) plans and aiding in personal healthcare decision making.
Carriers in the FEHB Program make various tools available on their websites to help interested individuals research costs of prescription drugs and find price and quality information about the providers in their networks.
Information on FEHB and Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) plan options, including benefits, premiums, and geographic coverage, is publicly available through the FEHB Plan Comparison Tool and FEDVIP Plan Comparison Tool on www.opm.gov.
Researchers and other interested parties can access downloadable files including FEHB and FEDVIP Plan and Benefits Information (PBI) in the OPM PBI Public Use Files (PUFs).
